Worlds of Fashion and Food Unite at Market Hall

Owners of a Shrewsbury café, located in the town’s indoor Market Hall, are hoping they have hit on a recipe for success by uniting the worlds of fashion and food.

Aaron Brown and Victor Deng launched the Bird’s Nest Café, which specialises in locally sourced, organic food, last month.

Not content with one new business venture, the ambitious duo also dipped their toes into the fashion world last week by hosting a vintage clothing stall.

The Bird’s Nest Gets Vintage made its debut on February 25 and 26.

The event was so successful that organisers have now confirmed it will be a regular monthly occurrence.

Mr Brown said: “The vintage clothing went down really well. We teamed up with Birmingham’s Top Banana to bring a range of authentic items to the Market Hall, including barber jackets, retro Nike trainers, Converse, brogues and dresses. There is a real gap in the market for genuine vintage clothing in Shrewsbury and we want to make the Bird’s Nest the top name in town for those one-off, iconic pieces.”

The Bird’s Nest Gets Vintage again on April 1 and 2.

The Bird’s Nest café is located on the Market Floor and is open Monday to Saturday, 9-5pm, offering a range of homemade soups, sandwiches, salads and cakes. Student and OAP discounts are available as well as meal deals.
