The Mayor of Shrewsbury is hosting the annual Summer Lunch in the Quarry Park and is inviting members of the public to join her and her guests for the event.

The post-Flower Show luncheon will take place on August 13 in the Members’ Marquee in the Quarry, by kind permission of the Shropshire Horticultural Society and Danco.  Barry Hamer Electrical Services will be providing the equipment for the occasion.

Guests are requested to arrive at 12.30pm for a 1pm start to enjoy a two-course lunch and coffee provided by Tasty Pastry.

Tickets are priced at £25.00 with proceeds going to the Mayor’s Charity Fund in aid of The Shropshire Recovery Partnership, who provide a service across Shropshire to assist and support individuals and their families affected by drug or alcohol use.

Mayor of Shrewsbury, Councillor Jane Mackenzie said: “The Summer Lunch is a popular annual fixture on the Shrewsbury social calendar, and we are looking forward to hosting the event this year.

“I am grateful to the Shropshire Horticultural Society and Danco for the use of the marquee for the lunch and I am so pleased that we have four talented young local musicians, to entertain us. It promises to be a great afternoon, whilst also helping to raise money for a valuable local charity helping those in need.”

“It was announced at the weekend, that Shrewsbury has won the bid to host the International Recovery Walk in September 2018. This is a massive boost to our local recovery community, and will help significantly in raising awareness in Shrewsbury about substance misuse.”

Tickets can be reserved via Carol Pullen, Mayor’s Secretary, on 01743 257655 or email: carol.pullen@shrewsburytowncouncil.gov.uk
