The Mayor of Shrewsbury is hosting a charity Summer Lunch in the Quarry Park and would like members of the public to join him for the event.
The post-Flower Show luncheon will take place on August 12 in the Members’ Marquee in the Quarry, by kind permission of the Shropshire Horticultural Society and Danco, with Barry Hamer providing the electrical services for the occasion.
The event begins at 12.30pm for a 1pm start and guests can enjoy a two-course summer buffet lunch and coffee, provided by Oakapple Catering.
Tickets are priced at £25.00 with proceeds going to the Mayor’s Charity Fund in aid of Little Rascals Foundation, a local charity helping to make life easier for children with disabilities as well as supporting them and their families to get them the help they need to enhance their lives and increase their independence.
Mayor of Shrewsbury, Councillor Peter Nutting said: “The Summer Lunch is a popular annual fixture on the Shrewsbury social calendar, and we are looking forward to hosting the event this year.
“I am grateful to the Shropshire Horticultural Society and Danco for the use of the marquee for the lunch. The event promises to be a great afternoon and I would encourage people to attend and help support a very worthwhile local charity.”
