Tickets on Sale for Mayor’s Charity Dinner

The Mayor of Shrewsbury is hosting a charity dinner in Frankwell in aid of Little Rascals Foundation and is encouraging people to come along and support his nominated charity.

The dinner, the final fundraising event as part of his Mayor’s year in office, will take place on May 10 at the Darwin Community Centre in Frankwell.

The event begins at 7pm for a 7.30pm start and guests can enjoy a three-course dinner with Oakapple Catering providing the food.

Joining the Mayor and Mayoress in a celebration of their Mayoral year will be Atlantic Rower and record breaker, Di Carrington as guest speaker.

Tickets are priced at £25.00 with proceeds going to the Mayor’s Charity Fund.

During his year in office, the Mayor has supported Little Rascals Foundation based in Monkmoor, a local charity helping to make life easier for children with disabilities.  The Foundation also supports children and their families to ensure they get the help they need to enhance their lives and increase their independence.

The Mayor of Shrewsbury said: “We have had a fantastic year and this final fundraising event will be our way of celebrating our time as First Citizens of Shrewsbury as well as saying thank you to everyone who has supported us over the course of the last twelve months.

“We are looking forward to hosting our charity dinner at the Darwin Community Centre in Frankwell on May 10.  It would be great to have as many people as possible coming along to help us support a very worthwhile local charity.”

Ben Wootton, Director of the Little Rascals Foundation, added: “We have been  delighted that the Mayor of Shrewsbury has supported our charity this year, and his fundraising events have helped to raise both the profile of the Foundation as well as much needed funds to make life easier for children with disabilities here in Shrewsbury.”

Guests attending the event will be able to use the car park at Hatcher’s Solicitors, who are generously providing the parking on the day.
