Shrewsbury Residents Invited to attend Annual Town Meeting

Shrewsbury residents are invited to attend this year’s Annual Town Meeting which is being held next week.

The event will take place in the Council Chamber at the town’s Guildhall on May 18 from 6pm.

It is open to residents who live within the council’s 17 wards and provides an opportunity to raise questions on matters affecting the town of Shrewsbury, and learn of the work undertaken by councillors over the last twelve months.

A meeting of the Shrewsbury-wide LJC will follow immediately after the Annual Town session closes.

Town Clerk, Helen Ball said: “The Annual Town Meeting is an opportunity to see local government in action and hold your local council to account. Although it is not technically a Town Council meeting, it is chaired by the Mayor and minutes taken. It is a chance for residents to meet with councillors and raise any issues, no matter how large or small. By working together we can hopefully resolve them and help make Shrewsbury an even better place to live, work and visit.”
