Shrewsbury shoppers are invited to take advantage of an extra -special late night opening at the town’s Market Hall.
The venue will be opening until 8pm on December 14 to give people a chance to stock up on all their Christmas essentials.
As well as an array of stalls to enthral, there will be festive entertainment from the Mere Singers who will be performing from 7pm until 8pm.
Earlier in the day shoppers can also experience the sounds of Two Flutes and Piano from 11am until 12pm and 1pm until 2pm.
For the little one’s Santa will be in his grotto, at Compost Kids, from 4pm until 8pm. B
oys and girls can visit Father Christmas and will receive an extra special handmade gift, courtesy of Compost Kids. A
fee of £2 per child is payable upon entry with all proceeds going to Hope House.
Santa returns to the Market Hall for his second visit after flying in on Saturday [DEC 10] when he took to the streets of Shrewsbury in his sleigh, courtesy of Shawbury and Mid-Shropshire Rotary club.
In addition to visiting Santa, members of the public can pay a visit to this year’s Tree of Memories, located on the gallery level of the Market Hall.
People can write a message to a friend, relative, loved one, or even a pet, past or present, and attach it to a bauble which will remain on the tree over the festive period.
Charities that have benefited from the scheme over the last five years include; Hope House, Macmillan Cancer Support and NSPCC.
This year’s nominated beneficiary is Lingen Davies Cancer Relief.
Kate Gittins, Site Facilities manager at the market said: “Our late night shopping evening is the perfect way to get into the Christmas spirit; there will festive entertainment and a chance to complete your gift shopping all under one roof. Santa himself will even be dropping by for a visit. If you’re in town for Carols in the Square why not pop by for some late night retail therapy!”
