Salopian Brass to Play Shrewsbury Quarry

A popular Shropshire brass band will be entertaining audiences at Shrewsbury Quarry next month.

Salopian Brass will play the Quarry Bandstand on June 3.

The two-hour performance is free and starts at 1pm.

The band is now in its 35th year and has performed across the county at shows, carol services, concerts, fetes and fairs.

Practice sessions are held every Thursday from 7.30pm until 9pm at Emmanuel Church, Harlescott.

Anyone interested in joining the band, in particular anyone who plays the tenor horn, can contact Sarah Carline, secretary, on (01743) 792492.

Mike Cox, Outdoor Recreation & Asset Manager for Shrewsbury Town Council said: “We are delighted to be welcoming back Salopian Brass to the Quarry as part of our summer concert programme, they are always popular with audiences young and old and I’m sure they will give a great performance.”
