Rescheduled Date for Annual Town Meeting

Shrewsbury’s Annual Town Meeting has been postponed until after the Local Elections.

The meeting, which was due to take place on April 25, will now be held on May 16, from 6pm, at the Guildhall.

The rescheduled date falls after the elections on May 2, giving newly elected members the opportunity to attend.

The meeting is open to anyone who lives in the 17 wards that make up the Shrewsbury Town Council area and provides a chance to raise any local issues or concerns.

During the meeting members of the Town Council will also outline the authority’s work over the past 12 months, as well as providing an update on issues raised at the 2012 Annual Town Meeting.

Helen Ball, Town Clerk said: “The Annual Town Meeting is a fantastic opportunity for local people to get involved with shaping their community. Moving the date means there will be a chance to meet with newly elected councillors and raise any town issues, no matter how big or small.”

A copy of the agenda will be available to download from the Town Council’s website in advance of the meeting at www.shrewsburytowncouncil.co.uk
