Quirky Handmade Goods in the Heart of Shropshire

Washed Up Wood is a new venture in Shrewsbury’s Market Hall offering an inspired collection of quirky handcrafted products.

A small family business, operated by Joe Johnson, they offer the natural beauty of driftwood and re-claimed wood, blended with a contemporary and vintage finish.

Using a combination of the hand-collected driftwood and locally sourced vintage cutlery, Joe aims to bring a touch of nature with a modern feel into your home.

Joe said: “I was born and raised in the North-east of England and grew up in a lovely little village in Co. Durham.  Surrounded by the natural beauty of rolling green hills and scenic woodland, I grew up learning about nature.  Both of my parents were art teachers and I have learnt a lot from them about natural abstract shapes, which hopefully shows in my creations.

“With no prior experience, I have learnt how to craft these pieces through trial and error and I am extremely proud of my accomplishments so far.”

Each Washed Up Wood product has had the utmost care, time and attention to produce a product with its own individual warmth and charm.  Every product is handmade, with the bending and shaping of each individual piece completed without the need for heating or using softening agents.

Washed Up Wood welcomes all commissions, so whilst browsing their range of products, please contact Joe on 07779 754695, e-mail: info@washedupwood.co.uk or visit Joe’s website at www.washedupwood.co.uk

The stall is open on Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 9am until 4pm.
