Photographic Exhibition at Market Hall

A new exhibition portraying Shropshire’s Attingham Park through the eyes of three teenagers with autistic spectrum disorder (ASD) will run at Shrewsbury Market Hall later this month.

The photographic collection, entitled Viewpoint, will be on display from June 14 to 25 at the Market Hall Art Gallery.

The photographs are the result of a week-long workshop, run by Mairi Turner Photography and supported by Attingham Park, Shropshire Council and Autism West Midlands.

Admission is free.

Keith Ashford from Visual Art Network, which runs the Market Hall gallery, said: “The exhibition features an excellent set of photographs from three teenagers on the autistic spectrum. Participants spent February half term at Attingham Park gaining new skills in the photographic process. After five days of interacting with the space and the viewfinder, as well as each other, they produced their own unique view of Attingham Park.

“I highly recommend seeing the collection which provides an interesting perspective on one of Shropshire’s best loved visitor attractions.”

Kate Gittins, site facilities manager at the Market Hall added: “Visual Art Network continues to bring some exceptional and thought provoking exhibitions to the Market Hall.

The gallery, which is located on the second floor of the market, is a great space to unwind and relax after a day of shopping so why not pop in next time you visit us and take a look at this fabulous collection.”

The Visual Art Network is a voluntary organisation that promotes visual art in Shropshire.

The Market Hall gallery is one of its venues for promotion.
