Two new businesses have launched at Shrewsbury Market Hall offering everything needed to make a house a home.
Home & Dry, launched by Sarah Thomas, and TrEz Maison, run by Tracey Tromans and Lesley Gray both opened for business last month and are already proving to be huge hits with shoppers at the indoor market.
Home & Dry stocks a range of affordable linens, bedding, towels and kitchen items including oven gloves, aprons and tea towels, as well as knick-knacks and giftware. A delivery service is available and special orders can also be catered for.
Sarah Thomas, 19, said: “This is a new venture for me as I have been a full time carer for my Mum which meant that often, any work I found wasn’t flexible enough to accommodate my commitments. After struggling for a few years I started volunteering at Mobility Homecare in the market where I slowly gained confidence. I owe a lot to Martin at Mobility for giving me the faith in myself to start up my own business.”
Home & Dry is open Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 9am until 4pm.
Also open at the market on Fridays is new stall TrEz Maison which stocks a range of decorative items from cushions, vases and photograph frames to bunting and door and wall hangings. Many items are handmade or embellished so are unique, at an affordable price.
Tracey Tromans, 48, said: “TrEz Maison is run by myself, and Lesley Gray, both from Stourbridge. Our local indoor market closed down some time ago and we have been looking for a thriving market with great atmosphere in which to launch our business and we think we have founds that in Shrewsbury!”
TrEz Maison is open every Friday, from 9am until 4pm.

Shrewsbury Market Hall is located under the town’s iconic clocktower and boasts a vibrant mix of eclectic stalls selling a range of goods from traditional fruit, vegetables, fish and meat to Middle Eastern delights, champagne and oysters, vintage wares, clothes, books, trinkets, handmade jewellery and more.
The market’s main trading days are Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays with a select few stalls open on Thursday mornings.
