For those shops and businesses who have not yet purchased their hanging baskets from either Shrewsbury Town Council or Shrewsbury BID, there is still a chance to purchase one for their business premises.
The Town Council has almost completed its summer planting programme around the town and does have some availability for shops and businesses to take part in their hanging basket scheme.
Fully planted hanging baskets are available from the Town Council for £50.00 each (inc. VAT) which includes delivery, maintenance and regular watering throughout the summer and then disposal at the end of the season.
Councillor Keith Roberts, Chairman of Shrewsbury in Bloom, said: “The Town Council has kept the price of their hanging baskets the same as last year, which represents great value for money. They’re also a colourful way of enhancing the town, which really helps to make a difference to the visual appeal of Shrewsbury.
“During the current economic climate I am thrilled at the response of traders and shop owners within Shrewsbury for the hanging baskets which enhance our beautiful town’s appearance.
“We take great pride in the fact that Shrewsbury in Bloom is a partnership between residents, businesses and the commercial sector, the Town Council and various other stakeholders, and this is a fantastic opportunity for the business community to support our Town of Flowers image.”
Shrewsbury BID members will be able to order their hanging baskets at a sponsored cost of £40.00 via their website at https://shrewsburybid.co.uk/2019/05/hanging-basket-orders-now-open/
Seb Slater, executive director of Shrewsbury BID, said: “We are very happy to be supporting the hanging baskets for a second year, and helping to reduce costs for BID members.
“Shrewsbury town centre always looks fantastic in the summer and we hope as many businesses as possible are able to take up the offer of hanging baskets to make the town look even better.”
