A popular confectionary shop, which relocated to Shrewsbury Market Hall earlier this year, has been given a truly scrumptious make-over.
Toot Sweets, run by Julia Wenlock, has been refurbished to allow better access for customers. The static counter has been removed opening up the space and better displaying an array of delicious goodies including; award-winning handmade chocolates, truffles, chocolate bars, traditional sweets, party bags, lolly pops and wedding favours, including candy buffets.
The refurbishment follows Toot Sweets’ move to the Market Hall back in June last year.
As well as the new shop layout, Toot Sweets is also rapidly expanding its product line with customers able to suggest new sweets and flavours. All chocolates and truffles are handmade and are produced in small batches for the ultimate freshness in quality and taste.
Julia Wenlock said: “Last July we were awarded two national awards in the Great Taste Awards by the Guild of Fine Foods. I won one gold star for my Shropshire lavender white truffle and two gold stars for my dark butterscotch. I source ingredients from local suppliers and producers, such as Shropshire Lavender based near Newport. As well as using local ingredients I am passionate about using single origin chocolate, which produces a better flavour and comes from ethical sources.
“We’ve still got lots of improvements to make to our shop at the Market Hall, but it’s a really exciting time all round. In the shop we’ll be stocking and providing all the fabulous products and services available on our website, as well as linking up with other shops in the market to provide some exciting services – announcements coming soon so watch this space!”
Kate Gittins, site facilities manager at the Market Hall added: “Julia has done a fantastic job working the Toots Sweets magic on the unit, the shop looks fantastic and the new layout allows all of her delicious wares to be on fully on display. If you haven’t visited Toot Sweets before now is the perfect time to rediscover all those favourite sweets from your childhood, as well as sample some of Julia’s new flavours and products.”
Toot Sweets is open Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays from 10am until 4.30pm and Thursdays from 10am until 1pm.
