Glitz and Glamour for the Mayor’s Charity Ball

The Mayor of Shrewsbury, Councillor Jane Mackenzie, will be hosting her Charity Ball on Saturday 10 March in aid of her chosen charity, Shropshire Recovery Partnership.

The event takes place in the Sovereign Suite at the Montgomery Waters Meadow, home of Shrewsbury Town Football Club, from 7.00pm.

Tickets are priced at £50.00 and will include a drinks reception on arrival and a three-course dinner.  There will also be a guest speaker, live music from the Chicago Swing Catz jazz band and a disco until late.

With a theme of “Purple Tie & Tiara”, the evening promises to be one of glitz and glamour.

Chains of Office may be worn.

A raffle will be held in aid of the Mayor’s Charity Fund.

Councillor Mackenzie said: “The Mayor’s Charity Ball is a high spot in the Shrewsbury social calendar and I would be delighted to welcome as many people there as possible. The money we raise will support local people recovering from alcohol addiction.

“Alcohol is the biggest killer of people aged 25-45 years and affects people of all ages and social classes. Shropshire Recovery Partnership helps individuals turn their lives around and build a better future for themselves and their families.”

Menu options and tickets are available from the Mayor’s Secretary, Carol Pullen, on 01743 257655 or email carol.pullen@shrewsburytowncouncil.gov.uk. Cheques should be made payable to the Mayor’s Charity Fund.
