Forget the Oscars – it’s Time for the Mayor’s Awards!

Shrewsbury residents are being invited to dust off those gowns and tuxedos as the Town Council prepares for its very own red carpet event – the annual Mayor’s Awards.

Nominations are being sought in a range of categories for this year’s awards ceremony, which takes place on May 8 at the Guildhall.

The awards are presented to organisations, groups, individuals and businesses whose achievements have benefitted the town of Shrewsbury.

The scheme is designed to recognise the town’s unsung heroes, as well as captains of industry, and is one of the highlights of the Mayoral calendar.
