Final Acts Announced for Summer Bandstand Season

The complete line-up for Shrewsbury bandstand’s summer season has been announced with the final acts now confirmed.

The series of free music events in the Quarry kicked off at the beginning of May and will continue into July and August.

On July 10 Wem Jubilee Band take to the stage from 1pm until 3pm.

Then, on July 17, Percussion Unlimited will entertain audiences from 1pm until 3pm.

On July 24, from 12pm until 3pm, Telford’s Dixieland Jazz Band will be entertaining audiences with their sounds inspired by 1920s New Orleans.

Salopian Brass, who had to postpone their concert on June 12 due to inclement weather, will now play on August 28 from 2pm until 4pm.

Mike Cox, Outdoor Recreation and Asset Manager for Shrewsbury Town Council said: “We are pleased our series of summer music events for the Quarry’s bandstand continues to grow and encourage people to come along and enjoy these free concerts. People are welcome to bring along their own chairs and picnics to make the most of these live music shows.”
