Christmas Chorus at Shrewsbury Market Hall

A whole host of festive entertainment is in store for shoppers who visit Shrewsbury Market Hall this Christmas.

The venue’s seasonal music programme continues on Wednesday [DEC 14] when audiences can experience the sounds of Two Flutes and Piano from 11am until 12pm and 1pm until 2pm.

Then in the evening the Mere Singers will be performing for late night shoppers from 6.30pm until 7.30pm.

On December 17 the renowned Phoenix Singers will perform carols for all from 11am until 12pm.

The Phoenix Singers have consistently delighted audiences with their high quality performances of choral music since their formation in 1965.

The choir currently has approximately 40 members and gives four major concerts every year, both in Shrewsbury and further afield.

The fun kicked off this week with Wilfred Owen School Choir who performed at the market on Tuesday.

Kate Gittins, site facilities manager at the Market Hall added: “It was great to see how much the children from Wilfred Owen School enjoyed performing here at the market, they really got into the spirit of things and the whole place was full of festive cheer.

“We are also delighted to have secured the Phoenix Singers for December 17. We look forward to seeing their performance which is sure to be top class.”
