Cast Your Vote to Crown Shrewsbury Market Hall’s Trader of the Year

Shoppers at Shrewsbury Market Hall are being asked to cast their vote to crown the Market Trader of the Year.

People visiting the indoor market before April 1 can nominate their favourite trader to win a Mayor of Shrewsbury Award.

The trader with the most votes will be presented with a trophy at the Mayor’s Awards ceremony on April 27.

Previous winners of the award are The Market Buffet in 2014 and Amess Brothers fruit & veg stall in 2015.

Nomination forms are available in the market and completed forms should be deposited in the post boxes provided.

Duplicate entries will not be counted.

Mayor of Shrewsbury, Councillor Miles Kenny said: “This could be a tricky one as all of the stallholders deserve to be Market Trader of the Year! However we all have a favourite, one we make a bee line for, and if you don’t vote for that favourite Shrewsbury Market Trader, don’t be surprised if someone else is crowned Market Trader of the Year!

“If you are not a regular shopper at the Market Hall, give it a whirl, you’ll be pleasantly surprised as to what’s on offer.”

Kate Gittins, Facilities Manager at the Market Hall added: “Trader of the Year is a fantastic way to celebrate all of the wonderful businesses we have here in the market. There’s always tough competition for the top spot, with just a few votes historically separating first and second place, so every vote really does count!”
