Book Signing at Market Hall

The driving force behind a new book which brings together more than 200 photographs of Shrewsbury will be appearing at a special event next weekend.

David Trumper and David Woodhouse will be signing copies of Shrewsbury Revisited and talking about this collection of photographs at the Bird’s Nest Café, located in Shrewsbury Market Hall, on June 11 from 10.30am until 12.30pm.

There will be slide shows at 11am, 11.30am and 12pm.

The event is being organised by Pengwern Books. Shrewsbury Revisited contains more than 200 previously unpublished photographs of the town from a collection of postcards.

The views show daily life in the town during the first half of the 20th Century.

Susan Caroline from Pengwern Books said: “We are thrilled to have David Trumper and David Woodhouse here to talk about this wonderful collection of photographs which encapsulates a period that is fast disappearing into history. Everyone is welcome to attend this free event.”

Kate Gittins, site facilities manager at the market added: “It is always interesting to learn more about the area you live in and this fascinating collection of photographs gives an insight into what life was like in Shrewsbury all those years ago. Special thanks must go to Pengwern Books for organising the event and to the Bird’s Nest café for hosting the signing.”
