Birthday Plunge for Charity

A Shrewsbury caretaker is set to come down to earth with a bump on his 35th birthday this summer.

Kevin Goss, from Frankwell in Shrewsbury, will be doing a parachute jump at Tilstock Airfield, Whitchurch, on August 20 in a bid to raise cash for charity.

The 34-year-old, who works at Shrewsbury’s indoor Market Hall, will be taking a leap of faith, on his birthday, from 10,000ft in aid of the Air Ambulance.

Mr Goss, who is covering the cost of the jump himself, has already raised more than £800 in sponsorship which will go directly to the charity.

“It’s something I’ve always wanted to do,” he said.

“I just decided to take the plunge for my 35th birthday and thought if I could raise funds for a good cause at the same time, so much the better. I can’t wait to do the jump, so far the nerves haven’t kicked in. I am just really excited about it.”

Kate Gittins, site facilities manager at the Market Hall added: “Kevin has already raised a fantastic amount for the Air Ambulance, we are all behind him here at the Market Hall and wish him the best of luck.”

Anyone wishing to sponsor Kevin can do so by visiting the Market Hall in person. For more information on the Market Hall log on to http://www.markethallshrewsbury.co.uk
