A new stall selling a range of ales from across the region has opened at Shrewsbury Market Hall.
Beer Matts is the latest venture by Mathew Davies who also runs Real Ale Direct, a company specialising in real ale, wholesaler and outside bars.
Beer Matt’s opened on March 3 and specialises in regional bottled beers from Shropshire, North Wales and Cheshire.
Celtic fruit wine and Penderyn Whiskey is also available, as well as a selection of gift sets and Polypin barrels to order.
Gwynt y Ddraig cider is now also available for a limited time over the summer.
Mr Davies said: “There is a wealth of real ale on offer across the region and what we have done, through Beer Matts and Real Ale Direct, is to bring these ales right to the doorstep of local people, and landlords, the length and breadth of Shropshire and North Wales.”
Mike Cox, Outdoor Recreation & Asset Manager for Shrewsbury Town Council added: “It is fantastic to see the market is doing so well and attracting so many new traders. We wish Matt lots of luck with his new stall which is already proving to be popular with customers.”
Beer Matts is open every Friday and Saturday, from 9.30am until 3.30pm at Shrewsbury indoor market.
