Quarry Splash Park Winter Closure

Whilst the weather hasn’t been brilliant this summer, the inclement climate hasn’t stopped people of all ages enjoying the fun at the Quarry Splash park in Shrewsbury.

The “Darwin’s Islands of Adventure” splash and play areas have been a big hit with families from across the region throughout the summer months.

With a dismal summer behind us, Shrewsbury Town Council will be closing the Splash park for the winter months from Monday 2 October. The play area will remain open.

Helen Ball, town clerk for the Town Council, said: “We are delighted that our Splash park has been so well used this summer despite the poor weather. We need to close the facilities for the winter months and de-commission the equipment for storage purposes.

“The final chance for everyone to enjoy the water features will be Sunday 1 October – weather permitting. We look forward to re-opening the Splash park next spring and hope that many more people will be able to have fun at our award-winning splash pad.”
