You are hereby summoned to attend the meeting of the Annual Meeting of the Shrewsbury Town Council scheduled to take place on Monday 11th May 2015 at 6.00 pm in the Walker Theatre at Theatre Severn, Frankwell Quay, in order to transact the following business.

1Election of Mayor for 2015/2016
(i) To be proposed & seconded:
“That Councillor MILES KENNY be elected Mayor of Shrewsbury Town Council for the period up to the Annual Meeting of Council in May 2016”
The Mayor signs his Declaration of Acceptance of Office as Mayor of Shrewsbury
Those on the top table (Outgoing Mayor & Consort; Mayor & Mayoress Elect and Town Clerk together with the Deputy Mayor & Mayoress Elect and the Chaplain) leave the Theatre behind the Mace Bearers and Sword Bearer
The Mayoral Party returns with the New Mayor and Deputy Mayor Elect robed
The Outgoing Mayor hands over the Chain of Office to the Mayor and the Outgoing Consort hands over the Chain of Office to the Mayoress alongside a gift
(ii) New Mayor’s Speech -
2Vote of Thanks to Retiring Mayor
(i) To be proposed and seconded:
“That the Town Council hereby expresses its sincere thanks to Councillor Mrs Beverley Baker for the efficient, enthusiastic and impartial manner in which he discharged his duties as Mayor of Shrewsbury Town Council and that the Council also wishes to record its appreciation of the manner in which Mr Tim Baker has contributed to the success of his wife’s Term of Office as her Consort.”
(ii) Presentation by the Mayor to the Retiring Mayor of her Past Mayor’s Badge and a Framed Vote of Thanks
(iii) Presentation by the Mayoress to the Retiring Consort of his Past Consort’s Badge and a gift

4Election of Deputy Mayor for 2015/2016
(i) To be proposed and seconded:
“That Councillor Ioan Jones be elected Deputy Mayor of Shrewsbury Town Council for the period up to the Annual Meeting of Council in May 2016”
The Deputy Mayor and Deputy Mayoress change places with the Retiring Mayor and Consort. The Deputy Mayor signs his Declaration of Acceptance of Office as Deputy Mayor of Shrewsbury. The Mayor hands over the Chain of Office to the Deputy Mayor and the Mayoress hands over the Chain of Office to the Deputy Mayoress. -
5Presentation of Long Service Awards
To present awards to Stephen Watkins & Kevin Williams who have achieved 25 years’ service with Shrewsbury Town Council & Shrewsbury & Atcham Borough Council.

6Minutes of Council - 16th March 2015
To be proposed and seconded that the Minutes of the meeting of Council held on 16 March 2015 be approved and signed as a true and accurate record.
