Shrewsbury Town Council wishes to register its continued concern about the development proposals and the fact they do not accord with the evolving Shrewsbury Big Town Plan. The Local Authority has adopted the original Vision in which this site was part of an aspiration to connect the main retail heart of the town with the river. Council believes that this document should be given material weight in consideration of such applications. Whilst the Design & Access Statement makes reference to the Big Town Plan and the aspirations as above, the Town Council struggles to see how this can be achieved. It would therefore respectfully ask that the Planning Authority seeks solutions about how similar aspirations can be harmonised. The Town Council shall also look to make this point as part of the Shrewsbury Big Town Plan Masterplan Consultation
