Whilst the Town Council recognises that this area of Shrewsbury forms part of the land allocated to the Local Plan, and the principle of development has been established, Members wish to raise the following points: • Whilst Members acknowledge that this application has seen a reduction in the number of proposed properties from the original application, they have expressed concerns that there will be a cumulative impact on additional traffic movements from additional developments proposed for this area, in what is an already stressed part of the road network in Shrewsbury. • Whilst only in outline, this application does not address the need for good quality play on site and given the indicative layout it is not clear that sufficient space can be given over to ensure any new residents are adversely affected by play being too near properties. • Members acknowledge that a number of mature trees will be retained as part of the proposals, but they have expressed concern that the public open space sited around the mature oak tree is insufficient for the proposed development.
