The Town Council objects to this application on the following grounds: • Whilst Members are not opposed to the principle of developing this site, they object to the four-storey aspect of the buildings and have concerns over the density of the site. • Members feel that the proposals represent an over-development of the site and the height of the properties will have an over-bearing impact on other residential properties along Oteley Road with concerns for privacy of neighbouring properties. • Members also feel that the design of the buildings is not in keeping with the existing properties in the vicinity, where residential properties along Oteley Road are of a traditional 1930’s design. • Members also raised concerns about the cumulative parking issues for the whole site, including the proposed public house and lodge, and would welcome measures to alleviate problems for residents, particularly on football match days. • Members have concerns relating to the traffic issues for accessing and exiting the whole site and would like to see proposals included in the plans to alleviate the potential traffic problems.
