Whilst Members are not opposed to the principle of developing this site, they object to the four-storey aspect of the buildings and have concerns over the density of the site. With that regard, the Planning Committee has asked that the Applicant attends the next scheduled Planning Committee meeting on 04 June to present their proposals. The Town Council will forward a revised comment thereafter. The Town Council appreciated representatives of the developers attending the committee meeting to present and talk through the plans in more detail. The Town Council raises no objections to this application but would like to see proposals in place to incorporate renewable energy PV panels in the scheme. Members also raised concerns about parking for the whole site, including the proposed public house and lodge, and would welcome measures to alleviate problems for residents, particularly on football match days.
