The Town Council objects to this application as it considers the plans to be overdevelopment of the site with potential overlooking issues, which would impact on the neighbouring properties. If approval is granted, members request that conditions are established which ensures that the new building remains ancillary to the main property and cannot be sold as a separate residence. Having considered the amended plans at the Planning Committee meeting on 25 June 2019, the Town Council maintains its objections to this application, and feels that if permission is granted this could set a dangerous precedent for other residential properties along Barracks Lane. At the meeting on 06/08/2019 the Town Council withdraws its objection to this application and restates its position that if approval is granted, members request that conditions are established which ensures that the new building remains ancillary to the main property and cannot be sold as a seperate residence.
