Application Notes:
The Town Council is not opposed to the principle of development in this location, which members feel could enhance the area, particularly the derelict site on Bridge Street. However, members recognise the prominence of this location with it being one of the first views for visitors entering the town over the Welsh Bridge and so feel the design of the building should reflect its surroundings. Members would like to see a design that is aesthetically pleasing, sympathetic to the neighbouring Georgian and Victorian style buildings and be in keeping with the Shrewsbury Hotel itself.
