Members do not agree with the principle of building on parking spaces and therefore taking away community facilities. During a function, this establishment can become very popular at which time the current parking provision is insufficient. This application as existing would reduce the parking spaces from 68 down to 29, exacerbating the issue. However, as per discussions, Members would support the application if the access to the new properties was changed to the East of the site, providing separate access from the pub carpark entrance. This would make it safer for the residents and would enable some additional parking spaces to be retained.
