Given the significant and prominent location of this site and the fact that Stone House is a Grade ll listed Georgian building, the Town Council is opposed to the plans. It is felt that given the proposals for adding in effect a further floor onto the building together with the choice of materials, this breaches the integrity of both the Georgian building and its setting. Members would welcome the views of the Conservation Officer and request that the application be considered by the Planning Committee.
