Shrewsbury Town Council Announces Return of ‘Summer of Music’ for 2026

Following the success of last year’s Summer of Music programme, Shrewsbury Town Council is delighted to announce an expanded programme for 2026 at the Quarry Bandstand.

Building on the popularity of the 2025 series, this year’s programme will feature more performances than ever before, with live music taking place on both Saturdays and Sundays ensuring the event is accessible to a wider audience.

Running from Sunday 10 May to Sunday 23 August, the Free Summer of Music series is the perfect way to enjoy a relaxing afternoon in the park—just bring a picnic and a camping chair. Set against the picturesque backdrop of the Quarry, audiences can look forward to a diverse programme of performances, including brass bands, an accordion band, a male voice choir, a military band and a saxophone quartet, all in a beautiful outdoor setting.

Sarah Loeptien, Administrator for Shrewsbury Town Council and organiser of the programme, said:

“After such a positive response to last year’s programme, we’re really pleased to be bringing Summer of Music back for 2026 with an even bigger and more varied line-up.

There’s something really special about relaxing in the Quarry with family and friends, a picnic, and some uplifting live music. We’re looking forward to welcoming both regular visitors and new audiences to enjoy everything the programme has to offer – and best of all, it’s completely free.”

All performances begin at 2pm, unless otherwise stated.
