Visit to the Ark

We would be delighted to invite the Mayor to visit Shrewsbury Ark to meet our team and learn more about two new specialist roles funded by The National Lottery Community Fund.

Our new Alcohol and Drug Harm Reduction Support Worker will provide structured, non-judgemental support to people affected by substance use, helping them reduce harm, engage with treatment and make sustainable changes.

Our new Mental Health and Neurodiversity Support Worker will provide tailored support to people experiencing mental ill health or neurodivergence, helping them overcome barriers, access appropriate services and engage more successfully with housing and wider support.

These roles will enable us to offer more specialist and consistent support, addressing some of the complex issues that can contribute to homelessness. We hope they will help people improve their health and wellbeing, build confidence, sustain accommodation and move towards safer, more stable and fulfilling lives.

The visit would provide an opportunity for the Mayor to meet the support workers, hear about their plans and see first-hand how this Lottery funding will strengthen the support available to people experiencing homelessness and hardship in Shrewsbury.
