Biography

Rob has been the Leader of Shrewsbury Town Council since May 2025. He was first elected to the Town Council, as well as Shropshire Council in 2021. He is also Shropshire Council’s Portfolio Holder for Transport & Economic Growth. Rob studied Engineering at University, and initially worked in the aerospace industry before retraining as a maths teacher. When he was younger he rowed competitively, and for the last 18 years has coached junior rowers on the Severn, included coaching the Great Britain U16 VIII in 2013. He ran the London Marathon in 2021 raising money for Parkinson’s UK. Rob established the Kidical Mass bike ride in Shrewsbury. He is married with two children.
