Biography
David’s proudest moment was receiving Shrewsbury’s Award as the greatest town in the UK from the Academy of Urbanism Award in 2024 when he was Mayor. He believes that Shrewsbury has so much potential and is working hard as the Operations Committee Chair to make sure that the Town looks its best. He began his serious political career by getting elected to Liverpool City Council aged just 25. There followed a period working for the old Liberal Party which led on to a career in Public Relations. David’s next move was to work for the BBC as a Researcher which came to an end when he moved from London to bring up a young family following his marriage to Rachael. She was a successful lawyer, so David became a house husband. As his sons grew up, he worked for a Welsh Assembly Member and then moved to Shropshire in 2012.
