Biography

Julian was first elected to the Town Council in 2017, having lived in the town since 2005. Julian worked in education as a music teacher, first in London secondary schools, then in the sixth form college in Telford. Prior to that Julian worked as a Homeless Persons officer. Since living in Shrewsbury Julian has contributed to the town's cultural life by organising 'Saturday Jazz' for 10 years - lunchtime Jazz concerts at Theatre Severn then at the (now defunct) Wightman theatre. He also organised 'Americana' concerts under the name 'New Twang Promotions'. As a saxophonist he has played with many of the areas finest Jazz musicians. For relaxation and exercise Julian cycles and likes to walk hills, and tries to find time to cycle to, then walk up, Haughmond Hill at least once a week. Julian was the Green Party's Parliamentary candidate in recent General Elections.
