Shrewsbury Market Stall Spreads its Wings in New Fashion Venture

A new cafe which recently opened in Shrewsbury’s Market Hall is set to hatch another business venture this week.

The Bird’s Nest cafe, which specialises in locally sourced, organic food, is spreading its wings and dipping a toe into the fashion world by launching a vintage clothing stall.

The Bird’s Nest Gets Vintage debuts on February 25 and 26, and once a month thereafter.

Owners Victor Deng and Aaron Brown have teamed up with Birmingham’s Top Banana vintage clothing store to bring a retro treasure trove to the Market Hall.

Mr Brown said: “There is a real gap in the market for authentic, vintage clothes in Shrewsbury and it’s a massive trend at the moment. The Bird’s Nest is teaming up with Top Banana to bring Shrewsbury some of the best vintage clothing around, for men and women, for two days only every month. So why not stop by for a coffee and a browse and pick up that perfect item for Saturday night out!”

The Bird’s Nest cafe is located on the Market Floor and is open Monday to Saturday, 9-5pm, offering a range of homemade soups, sandwiches, salads and cakes. Student and OAP discounts are available as well as meal deals.
