    Matt Wilcoxon, the Countryside & Greenspace Team Leader shall be in attendance to provide an update on managing the Town Council’s Countryside Estate and future projects in the making.

  • 6QUARRY

    To receive an update from the Outdoor Recreation & Assets Manager on the following matters involving the Quarry:
     
    (i)   Update of events in the Quarry for 2018;
     
    (ii)  Update of events in the Quarry for 2019;
     
    (iii)  Update on footfall activity in the Quarry;
     
    (iv)  Tendering for Ice-cream & refreshment concessions

  • 7RECRUITMENT OF A MECHANICAL ENGINEER

    Further to the discussions last month, members will receive an update on the recruitment of a Mechanical Engineer to bring our engineering functions in-house.

  • 8REMEMBRANCE

    (i)         To receive an update on recent Remembrance Activities involving the Town Council;
     
    (ii)        To finalise the location for the planting of Remembrance Oak Trees in each ward

  • 9MARKETS

    To receive an update by the Outdoor Recreations & Assets Manager on the work of the general market including general arrangements, uptake and waiting lists.

  • 10RECREATION GROUND & OPEN SPACE MATTERS

    To receive the Outdoor Recreation & Asset Managers Update Report on the following:
     
    (i)  Upton Lane Recreation Ground – update on feasibility work with BMX Consultant;
     
    (ii)  County Ground – update on ballpark costings for the Pavilion Extension and ratification of progress;
     
    (iii)  Monkmoor Recreation Ground – update on recent ASB and the resultant installation of CCTV Cameras.  Members are also asked to consider installation of railings around the Pavilion;
     
    (iv)  Oakfield Drive – update on unauthorised encampment;
     
    (v)  Abbey Gardens – demands for tree works in the gardens from a neighbouring resident;
     
    (vi)  Radbrook Recreation Ground – update on completion of extension to the carparking area by SAHA;
     
    (vii)  Castlewalk Recreation Ground – update on the creation of the footpath towards the Riverside Meadow development site.  Members also need to consider a programme for levelling the surface to maintain the integrity of the landfill cap.

  • 11USE OF TECHNOLOGY

    Never more has there been a time to use modern technologies to assist the Town Council in managing the public estate.  The Projects Officer will report on the following technologies:
     
    (i)         GIS Mapping and the current programme of mapping streetlights;
     
    (ii)        Geosensing and the need to understand footfall numbers for general usage, compliance with licences and the management of crowd control;
     
    (iii)       CCTV cameras and the mobile access to data;
     
    (iv)       Bodycams and the use by operatives;
     
    (v)        Shopwatch Radios and the use by operatives.

    To receive an update on developer discussions/negotiations:
     
    (i)  Radbrook College Site – Upgrades to play areas in the vicinity of the development site – tenders are out for the upgrades to Grangefields and Bank Farm Road Play Areas
     
    (ii)  Copthorne Barracks Play and Open Space – offsite contributions to play and open space – awaiting progress with Pavilion Extension
     
    (iii)  Riverside Meadow s106 agreement – contribution to creating footpath access to Castlewalk Recreation Ground – works began 26th November to install the footpath
     
    (iv)  Shelton Hospital Land Transfer – Adoption & Maintenance of open space – awaiting completion of landscaping
     
    (v)  Barratt Homes – Hanwood Road Land Transfer – Adoption & Maintenance of open space – Land adopted
     
    (vi)  Barratt Homes/Bovis Homes – Mytton Oak Road – planned adoption for the start of the 2019 grass cutting season
     
    (vii)  Shrewsbury South Sustainable Urban Extension
    (a)   Sutton Grange site – ongoing – unlikely to transfer in the next financial year
    (b)  Bellway Homes site – discussion on land adoption and adoption of acoustic fencing
    (c) Galliers site – early discussions on land adoption
    (d) Community Centre – location on the site
     
    (viii)  Ingleby Way – Adoption & Maintenance of open space – now ready following clarification of hedgerow ownership;
     
    (ix)  Holgate Drive – Adoption & Maintenance of open space – awaiting completion of snagging;
     
    (x)  Belvidere Paddocks – Adoption & Maintenance of open space – ready awaiting trasfer;
     
    (xi)  Arlington Way – Adoption & Maintenance of open space – awaiting completion of snagging;
     
    (xii)  Sweetlake – Creation of play area; Adoption & Maintenance of open space – S106 money issue now resolved – works being planned
     
    (xiii)  Shrewsbury Town Football Club – Offsite contribution to the improvement to football playing surfaces at Radbrook Recreation Ground – awaiting tender proposals for pitch levelling
