General Information

You are here

You and your guests/members of your organisation are invited to join the Mayor, Councillor Phil Gillam for the Remembrance Day Commemorations on Sunday 10th November 2019.

The Mayor and the Parade shall leave Shrewsbury Castle at 9.00 am (the Castle Grounds and Museum shall be open from 8.15am) and will arrive at St. Chad’s Church for the Remembrance Sunday Service at starting 9.45 am.

For those not wishing to take part in the procession please proceed directly to St Chad’s and please be seated by 9.20 am.  Please note there is no parking available in or around the Castle grounds.  St Chad’s Church car park will not be open and the area will be subject to road closures and restrictions.

The Service will be followed by the traditional wreath-laying ceremony at the War Memorial in The Quarry and March Past by HM Forces on St. Chad’s Terrace.

Given the high demand for seating and to assist the Church Wardens in seating guests, there will be no reserved seating other than for senior military and civic personnel.  Guests will be directed to available seats on a first come, first served basis by the Church Wardens.  If you wish to be seated as part of a group, you should arrange to meet up before entering the Church.

Military and Civilian organisations whom are parading will be seated in the upstairs gallery.

In order to establish numbers attending we have set up an Eventbrite Event so please confirm numbers who are parading and those going directly to church at: Register your attendance
