Shrewsbury in Bloom

Residents of Shrewsbury are encouraged to submit their photographs in a bid to be featured on the front or back cover of the annual Shrewsbury in Bloom Portfolio as part of the town’s entry this year.

Shrewsbury Town Council has taken delivery of 400 crocus corms from The Rotary Club of Shrewsbury which will be planted by staff in the town to highlight the part played by Rotary in the Global Polio Eradication Initiative.

The Mayor of Shrewsbury was delighted to honour the town’s top gardeners in the Town Council’s annual Town of Flowers Awards.

Shrewsbury Town Council, working in partnership with Shrewsbury in Bloom and the Midcounties Co-operative, has helped to improve a local area for the benefit of residents and business owners in Copthorne.

Shrewsbury has once again shown that it is blooming marvellous by scooping Gold in the annual Royal Horticultural Society (RHS) Heart of England in Bloom competition.

The final preparations have been completed around the town as Shrewsbury welcomes the Heart of England in Bloom judges today.

The Shrewsbury in Bloom Group has announced the winners of this year’s Bloom Portfolio photo competition.

The Shrewsbury in Bloom Group will be holding its annual Town of Flowers competition once again this summer and is asking members of the public to send in their nominations.

Residents of Shrewsbury were able to gain a first-hand view of the flowers that will make up the floral features around the town this summer when they attended the Shrewsbury in Bloom Open Evening last night [THURS].

As we approach Spring and start to think about our gardens and allotments, the Shrewsbury in Bloom Group is inviting the town’s gardening enthusiasts to join them for the return of the annual behind the scenes tour of the Town Council’s greenhouse.

Shops and businesses in Shrewsbury can help play their part in ensuring the town’s reputation as “the Town of Flowers” is maintained by displaying hanging baskets prepared by Shrewsbury Town Council.
