The Salopian Bar
The Salopian Bar based at the bottom of Roushill next to Smithfield Road has been a sponsor of a flowerbed for two or three years. The bar owner, Oliver Parry told us "we chose to become a sponsor because the flowerbed was outside our establishment" which has looked vibrant for most of this year.
The Salopian Bar was opened in December 2005, as a wine bar/bistro. After eighteen months of trade, Oliver realised that trade was increasingly being driven by the sale of Real Ales. The bar has since won the CAMRA Good Beer Guide 2008 and now also the 2009, 2010 & 2011 editions and the CAMRA, Shrewsbury & West Shropshire Pub of the Year in 2008 and 2009 and 2011.
