Shrewsbury: A Town Of Flowers

Shrewsbury recently underlined its reputation as a town of flowers by winning Gold in the 2010 Heart of England: in Bloom competition for its floral excellence. Work is already going on behind the scenes to prepare for the 2011 Bloom campaign, so watch this space!

Last year's achievement follows remarkable victories in two prestigious international floral community competitions. In 2007 we received the titles of the Gold award in the prestigious Entente Florale Europe Competition and the Winner in the Communities in Bloom International Challenge.

These awards have been the highlight of our bloom success to date. We also won the Royal Horticultural Society National in Bloom Competition in 2006 which saw Shrewsbury representing the UK both in Europe and further afield.

To receive such awards is a  high accolade for our County Town and demonstrates our commitment to providing a quality environment for our residents, communities and visitors to enjoy year after year.
